Professional Bio
Julia Gregory serves as the Appraisals and Collection Management Services Manager at Roland Auctioneers & Appraisers, where she leads the firm’s valuation workflow and supports clients through every stage of appraisal and collection care. She works extensively with fine and decorative art, rare books and manuscripts, collectibles, militaria, and general household contents. Julia is developing focused expertise in estate tax and estate planning appraisals and is known for her research-driven approach, precise documentation, and thoughtful client communication. She has a deep interest in becoming an Old Masters and Rare Books and Manuscripts specialist and continues to expand her knowledge in these areas through advanced research and coursework.
Julia joined Roland’s following her tenure with The Fine Art Group, where she worked as both an Appraisals Fellow and an Appraisals and Collection Management Consultant. During her time there, she contributed to complex multi-property estates, rare book documentation, and broad collection management initiatives. Her earlier experience spans museums, libraries, and archival institutions, including roles at Arcadia University’s Department of Art and Design, the Landman Library, the Museum of the American Revolution, the Presser Foundation, and Pennypacker Mills. These positions strengthened her skills in cataloguing, provenance research, condition reporting, and the long-term care of historical and artistic material.
Julia graduated summa cum laude from Arcadia University as the valedictorian of her class, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Art History with a minor in French Language and Francophone Studies. She received multiple academic honors, including the Ira A. Kraybill Award for highest academic achievement, the Robert L. Swaim Award for promise of graduate study, and the History Distinguished Achievement Award. Her scholarly work includes two senior theses: an Art History thesis on the visual construction of femininity in the Armada Portrait of Elizabeth I, and a History thesis examining female agency across Classical and Christian contexts from 31 BC to 1380 AD.
Julia is USPAP compliant through December 2026 and is completing the Comprehensive Appraisal Studies Program with the Appraisers Association of America. She has also earned certificates in British Furniture and Decorative Arts, Salvador Dali Prints, Old Master Prints, and Tribal Art Market studies. In Fall 2026, she will begin her Master’s in the History of Art at the University of Pennsylvania, further expanding her academic foundation and professional scope.
With a strong foundation in valuation methodology and an attentive, compassionate approach shaped by Roland’s family-owned environment, Julia works closely with clients during significant moments of planning and transition.
